stric1975
Frozen and snow-covered canal between Lake of the Isles and Bde Maka Ska, this past winter. Winters in this part of Midwest are brutally cold and very long. Yet they can also be pretty. Leia MP, 35 mm Summicron f/2 (IV), Kodak T-Max 400. arthur_mcculloch2
stric1975, that's good, very good. You've captured a moment in time. And Greg M - bravo.. I'll be indulgent this time. A few. Just back from holidays. So, where we went. Northern territory, uluroo and olgas, those are the first two shots (M262, with summaron 35mm lens). The other two, with my monochrom, 75mm lens - my go to lens.. Done at our 'touristic' meal out in the desert. Arthur (apiarist1)

arthur_mcculloch2
That's good, Allen Herbert. Tell me of its provenance. The photos here keep getting better and better.
stric1975
@Allen Herbert - is that Summilux pre-aspherical lens? I think I sense some of its famous "glow". @arthur_mcculloch|2 - those are nice images of Uluroo. I've never been to Australia, but if I ever go, I'll make sure I visit the Uluroo. Is it true that it's closed to tourists these days? No more climbing on it?

arthur_mcculloch2
stric1975, the climbing stops in late October - so there are vast numbers of tourists going there now. My partner and I did not climb it, out of respect to the local Indigenous language group, the Anangu, wishes. To be quite honest, it was enough to walk around it. It was our first time in the Northern Territory. It was far more impressive than I had imagined. But the Olgas - kata juta - took my breath away. I don't know your, or other contributors faith commitments, but if I've ever got close to the numinous, that was the place. Even the wind sang for us. Really worth a visit if you ever get to the antipodes.
Allen Herbert
"That's good, Allen Herbert. Tell me of its provenance. The photos here keep getting better and better" Arthur. Better, and better, I agree. Provenance, a candid photo of something real. A little moment, in real time, and the honesty it portrays.
arthur_mcculloch2
So a couple more shots from our trip (then I'll get back to people). Both these with my M26whatever - a camera I don't use often, though, unlike the M9, it provides useful and useable colour natively. One shot is too large, and for the life of me, I can't downsize it, of 'cave art'. Allen Herbert, thanks. I think of the Rutger Hauer's character in Blade Runner: 'What do memories become. Moments lost in time, like tears lost in rain'. It appears both my images are too large. Must work on this. One is of 'cave art' (an untutored description), the other of the sunset coming into Alice Springs.
