W/NW . A Very Clean Summar and a Muddy Bike.

  1. Here are some shots from a short country excursion with a Summar I have just recieved back from CRR Luton where Peter chemically cleaned it of a little haze and repainted some element edges. The front element was very good, apart from a tiny chip, and needed no attention; there was never much problem with flair and sinse cleaning, none at all - so far - so maybe the flair assosiated with the Summar has more to do with haze and scratches. I did use a short hood. Sorry about the way I'm posting most of these.

  3. Evocative pics, Adrian. Thanks for posting!

  4. Very nice countryside.

I am convinced glow and flare are due to internal haze.

  5. Lovely pictures, Adrian.

  6. Jack, thanks.

And that's the archetypal Summar shot - wonderful.

Mine were taken on Reala and I increased the yellow before de-saturating in some of them, to imitate a yellow filter. I don't have Photoshop so they're pretty straight neg scans. No cropping or sharpening (obviously maybe).

    Thanks David.

Ronald, thanks. Yes, I have a Summicron that looks pretty good optically but this Summar is more consistent and easy to use - so far.
