Bill Blackwell Images
This last week I found 11 rolls of film (3 color, 4 Tri-X, and 4 Kodachrome) hiding in a trunk and decided to have them processed. As it turns out they go back 30+ years. Of course, as I've discovered, the 4 rolls of Kodachrome can't be done! All of the color film was faded so badly the images can only be saved by converting them to black & white. Here are some salvaged images from the 7 rolls that could be processed. christopher_a._junker1
Rick, your re-enactment series is wonderful, with a "you are there" feel to them. Many people are critical of 1.5 Summarit 50 images, but yours appear very crisp. Are you doing anything post film development to enhance the Summarit image contrast and resolution sharpness? I bought a Summarit hood on a whim and then the actual lens with resulting horrible contrast and resolution, worst lens I ever put on a Leica. However a complete rebuilding by retired John Van Stelten resulted in a wonderful lens that has become a favorite. A good, clean one is a delight. Thanks for posting your Summarit images, I look forward to more.

There is a forum for Mirrorless cameras on photo.net and they also have w/nw posts. As far as I'm concerned, Eddie is welcome to post his Fuji X-E3 images here. 1 “When you come to a fork in the road, take it ...” – Yogi Berra

Thanks for posting your Summarit images, I look forward to more. Summarits are based on the Schneider Xenon and their optimal performance is reached at f/4, which is what I was shooting at most of the time over the weekend. This particular sample of the Summarit has some scratches in the front element, but nothing particularly bad, I think shooting at wide apertures helped against them having any influence. I used the unsharp mask tool in Photoshop, followed by bicubic resampling for smoothness when resizing. Then I upped the contrast by adding either an S- or a J-curve in the levels. I do have an absolutely perfect Summarit that is married to an equally spotless Leica IIIf A couple more from the same setup;
christopher_a._junker1
Thanks for the answer Rick. to me, your entire image taking process with the Summarit at f4, film, development and post processing really works well. The chosen scenes also appear to avoid flare generating sources that would degrade the images. Nice portfolio.
Rick_van_Nooij
Thanks, I did have a screw-in hood on the lens, but the glow is still there in highlighted areas. It's to be expected with 7 elements and some 10 Air-spaced surfaces. There's bound to be some flare. ;) I developed the last frames from the event yesterday evening (Agfa APX 100);
