arjen van de merwe
I want to start up medium format photography again. I can use a Kiev 88 with a MC Volna-3 2.8/80 Will this give me good quality, better than my up to date 35 mm equipment? (I'd like some opinions before I go into testing; I live in Malawi, and I have to import film, chemicals and everything. I dont want to go through that if this equipment does not give good results anyway)
michael_gilday
The Volna is a great lens; everything you could ever want in a normal length for 6x6. I use one on a Kiev-60. That said, the K-88 may not turn out to be your cup of tea. If it works, though, you like the 6x6 format, and you get on with the Kiev, it's capable of far exceeding the quality of 35mm. robert_lejuez
I also have a Volna lens on my Kiev 88 and it is tack sharp. In my opinion when compareing shot made with my 50mm lens on my 35mm camera the Volna wins hands down. I have also used it on my Kive 60 with the proper adapter with the same results.
