How are you going to use it? A Sekonic L 398 is a classic selenium incident meter for studio work with continuous lighting. When I was involved in film making 30+ years ago it was the best low budget choice for this. As a reflected meter, which it can be if you have the appropriate attachment, it takes in quite a broad angle which can be problematic. Most selenium meters have this issue, and they don't age all that well in some cases. I have a working Ikophot from the 1950's, but I also have one Zeiss Contax IIIa of that vintage with a totally dead selenium meter. In any case, the later CdS and silicon cell meters are far more sensitive in low light. There are practical reasons why selenium cells were superseded by other technology, and the benefits of not needing batteries are far outweighed by the increased sensitivity of newer meters.
