User_502260
There was more than one 28mm Vivitar lens in Canon FD mount. The one with the 28XXX... serial number is a decent performer. The later model with the 09XXXXXX seriel number is one I haven't used. I think is was the Cosina model. Cosina has made some interesting and very good lenses but I donlt think this was one of them. My favorite Vivitar 28 is probably the f/2.5 Fixed Mount model dating back to the late 1960s/early 1970s. The 28/1.9 Series 1 is a good lens. Both 28/2 models, 22XXX... and 28XXX... are good performers but the 22XXX... model usualy has oil on the aperture blades. The 28/2.8 T4 lens was good for its time and also for this time if it is closed down a little. The 28/2.5 TX lens is good but not great. The 28/2.8 TX is good and also compact.
mark_medin
I have an M42 version of the Vivitar 28/2.8 MC with 28XXX.. serial and it's a good performing lens. Some people prefer the close-focusing version, which I know nothing about.
