errol young
I have seen the after market grips but the D70 is not suited to it. It uses the UV to trip the shudder. But the 70 has to be reset often to that mode. The D70s does have the ability to use an external wire but I don't think the grip uses it. The D200 has a nikon grip. jamesnjohnson
When I shot vertical mostly I have it on a tripod and I use the cable release. I feel as though D70s doesn't need the grep (well for my taste). Funny thing is when I used my Canon Rebel 2000 I had to use the vertical grip, mostly for balance. I couldn't shoot comfortably with out it
mitchfalk
I bought a Hoodman Vertical grip, but I got it for the extra battery power. The D-70s is a very light camera and the grip gives it a more substantial feel w/o paying an extra $ 4000. for the D2X.
khaisy
So the hoodman grip works without any modification done tp teh camera. the reason i am asking i wanted to buy one but i do not remember where i read that you need to modify beacuse if the wire and that will void the warranty.
