zenzanon
I'm not sure if I left this link here yet, but after reading some questions frompeople about the V700, I thought this might be useful. http://www.shutterflower.com/V700.htm

sergei_antonov
George, where have you seen $3500 for Minolta scanner? Is it USD, or some other dollars? This scanner is not manufactured for quite a while, I was hunting for my scanner for a long time, I never saw this price. You could buy couple of Nikon scanners for this amount. Regarding your review. It is very important, which software you are using to scan negatives, color or B/W. Minolta tool is pretty bad for that. Have you used the same program, say VueScan? Did you set the same parameters during scanning? Without all this information your pictures are just pictures. I saw other reviews where V700 doesn't shine -- it is just marginally better that other Epson flatbeds like 4990. According to my own experience with Minolta and Canon 9550, which is about the same quality as 4990, flatbed scanners produce very soft scans, which require a lot of post processing. I returned Canon by this reason. Regards, Sergei
