jeffreylevine
i am using an epson wf-7710 printer. just bought some ilford premium photo pearl paper. there are downloads on the ilford site for epson printers. unfortunately they are only for the artisan, stylus photo and stylus pro printers. how do i set the paper settings? which printer image quality is closest to the wf-7710? Ed_Ingold
Paper setting on an Epson concern paper handling, ink density and possibly dot gain. What you need is a print profile for the paper/printer combination, which adjusts color sent to the printer to match what you see on the monitor. There are services which will do that for you. You print a file from the service, per instructions, and send it to them. They will scan it, create a profile, and send it to you. If you wish to experiment with various papers and surfaces, you should consider gearing up to make your own profiles. I use an X-Rite iStudio spectrophotometer ($450), which will calibrate both monitors (emissive) and printers (reflective).
