upgrade to canon 24-70

  1. i'm using right now tokina 20-80 atx proII and planning to buy new
    canon 24-70. is this a good idea since i do mostly wedding and film
  2. If you can explicitly state what's lacking in the Tokina and be sure that the 24-70L addresses those issues, then yes it's worth the upgrade. Offhand, I can think of a few : AF speed, sharpness wide open, flare, and compatibility with EOS bodies. I almost bought a second hand Tokina 28-80/2.8 ATX Pro II but when I tested it with my Elan-7e it would focus a little in front of the subject, all the time, but worked fine on the old EOS-5.
  3. Well, of course. Do you really think that the money difference only stem from marketing decisions ?

  4. I've had mine for a few days, and I really like it. It gives very sharp images even at f/2.8 on my 10D.
