upgrade from aperture 2 to 3

<p>I was ready to upgrade my version of Aperture 2 to version 3. When I clicked buy in the MacApp store it said I already had version 2 and I should check software updates which shows nothing.</p>

<p>The weird part to me is that a person without any version of Aperture can buy a brand new copy from the Macapp store for $79.99, but since I have a copy already it seems to be saying I have to buy the upgrade CD from the Apple Store for $99. <br>

Yes, I suppose I could go about the tedious task of deleting v 2.0 and then buying it brand new but that sounds idiotic. I Googled and searched apple support and found nothing. I must be missing something obvious because yes Apple can be stupid sometimes but this is crazy. Has anyone successfully upgraded from 2 to 3 from an online copy?</p>
