alun
Dear All, Posted some new pictures in "Birmingham Street Photographs" and created a small new gallery for pictures from the recent opening of the Shri Venketeswara Temple in the West Midlands (UK), apparently the largest new Hindu temple in Europe. Take a look. I hope you find something to enjoy. regards, alun
alan_miller10
looking at your images you're clearly a "people person" but did you manage to get any of the building itself? I mean it's absolutely stunning in the quality of the workmanship and unique in the area AFAIK given the workmen were sourced directly from India IIRC. You've got some nice pictures there though. thanks.
alun
Alan -- Thanks. Actually it wasn't really possible to photograph the building itself in any meaningful way. The area immediately in front was not finished and therefore a bit of a mess; we were also (I think, anyway) at the back of the building rather than the front. I didn't photograph inside the temple -- not because I couldn't but because after the ceremony the waiting time to get into the temple (and this was for a particular part of the worship ceremony) was an estimated two hours plus...
