rjm photo
Any idea what camera is sitting on the table in the new Nikon ad for D90 in November National Geographic (just before page 12)? The body looks strangely like a digital camera (grip as newer Nikon bodies and data screen on top left of lens to the side above the Nikon name) but no prism evident. Looks like a full size Nikon F mount lens capable body. Is this some point and shoot of the recent past...or a tease for a future product?
shuo_zhao
Obviously not everyone buys/subscribes to the megazine. Show us a photo/scan of that if you could.
lex_jenkins
A link to a reproduction of that ad, preferably on a site given permission to reproduce the ad, is preferable. If a copyrighted photo or ad from a magazine is reproduced here on photo.net we are obligated to delete it out of respect for the copyright owners. sattler123
I am not a Nikon expert, but to me it looks like a Coolpix camera - possibly the P6000?
rjm photo
That's what it appears to be....thanks Juergen.
tom_luongo1
lex, if the ad, or small parts of the ad, are reproduced for critical discussion, that comes under the fair use rules of copyright law. Nikon certainly wouldn't have their ad being discussed whereever.
peterblaise
. Side topic: sharing images we do not own in order to discuss them Agreed, how do we share and discuss images we don't own? My posts on photo.net including "fair use" mages I do not "own" have been deleted. We need a good place for off-photo.net storage and hosting of images we share here. I now host the image in question free on: http://www.tinypic.com/ or http://flickr.com/ ... and then include the auto-created "a href ..." from the web page with my chosen image, and paste it here in a post so it displays inline with the post and thread, then submit as html not plain text (include "br/" in <> greater-than and less-than symbols for carriage returns or line breaks), but the image in questions is not then hosted on photo.net - problem solved. See my samples: http://tinypic.com/peterblaise http://flickr.com/peterblaise .
lex_jenkins
This isn't the appropriate forum for discussing these issues. You may e-mail the site administrator or post a question on the http://www.photo.net/site-help-forum/ for clarification.
