Thornton and his innovative use of Infrared Ektachrome in Glamor

Photography. A month or so I remarked that a student's shot reminded

me of this technique. It was "photoshopped". I though this article

might give some people ideas on color Infrared. <p>

 

The work is of course NOT MINE. It contains sufficient technical

detail to give you some idead to experiment. I could not find any

reference to it on the web. I am hosting it on my site, on my disk

space, and provide the links here.<p>

 

It would be ashame if such an innovative technique was lost except to

us old-timers with our boxes of old Pop and Modern Photography

magazines. Hence the posting of it here. I hope it inspires a few of

you to try this technique. Of course Mr. Thornton used Nikons.<p>

Cool stuff, I played around a bit w/the IE ekta back in the day. Of course back in '73 everything looked like that :).

...which reminded me I have this amazing book called 'Aquarian Odyssey' by Don Snyder. It is full of great photos (mostly of people famous or not) from the '60s using all kinds of psychedelic photo effects including IE Ek.

The last time I shot HIE was about 3 years ago.
