uncompressed slide show on HD TV

I am after best possible image from my photos on a HD TV using a DVD player.

Can I get this with Adobe elements or do I need more specific software. Adobe

seems to compress with no options. Thanks

I should add that this is for slide shows. Using Adobe gives terrible results.

FWIW: Regular DVD video is nowhere near high def. Still, it looks pretty good. I'm taking transport streams over to my pc from my dig video recorder. The initial file has horizontal dim around 1900 pixels and vert around 1000. Once I dum it down to dvd, the horizontal dim is 7something, 740 I think.

 

I can play the orig transport stream file with Window's Classic Media Player, it looks dynamite. But the DVD isn't that far behind, the difference is pretty subtle, well to me at least.

If your HDTV has DVI or HDMI inputs you can connect a laptop to it and run the slideshow

from the laptop. That's the only way I can think of to get full HD resolution photos on a

HDTV.

Try the free software by MS called Photo Story 3. If you have DVD software ($19) It can produce an excellent slide show for HDTV - or your computer monitor at very high resolutions. It takes awhile to download. 3.5 minute video with awesome sound. 15 megs so it takes awhile to download but it will show you what the program is capable of.

Regular DVD players simply can not output HD. Their native resolution is a pitiful 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL).

That's what I meant. Your computer can play HDTV format, or you can use DVD at a lesser resolution. Unless you have a HDTV DVD player. The problem then becomes very, very expensive as you need a HDTV recorder - which I don't think is yet available to the consumer. Photo Story 3 will record the "movie" at HDTV resolution and play it to your HDTV set.

If you are using a Mac. Use the included iMovie and iDVD applications, to make a fully professional (slideshow) DVD disk that will play on any DVD player in the world. You can also choose to have the format as a standard 4:3 ratio (720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL), or true modern HD 16:9 wide screen.

 

These apps also allow you to add fully professional stereo audio (songs from your iTunes folder) and audio commentary.

 

It' best to pre size (crop) all your images in Photoshop to the pixel ratios listed above @ dpi-ppi 72. This way you have better control of any vertical images.

Also, you can create .mp4, .wmv, .avi, .3gp movies from videos in other formats for our iPod, Zune and 3GP Cell Phones, Youtube .etc.

For example, you can perfect your photos with attractive frames, special mask effects, and rich Cliparts, Wordarts or Text. And it is easy to crop music to sync with slideshow. You can use the video edit function to trim the video, add the caption and frame to the video, and change the original audio with your favorite music, etc.
