alan_kovarik
I wonder if the umrella rod in the center affect the quality of the light.or not. What do you think? I am planning to buy something like this, because I hate to assemble softboxes :-)
rodeo_joe1
I wonder if the umbrella rod in the center affect the quality of the light. Nope! Not if a double diffuser layer is used. Brolly-boxes are the best invention since sliced bread for portable use IMO. No more faffing about with rods in pockets and suchlike time-wasting nonsense. The thing just clicks up, and clicks down again at the end of the shoot. Of course that's of little consideration for a permanent studio, but a very big deal if you're taking your kit on the road.
BeBu Lamar
I don't think the present of the rod make a difference but the length of the rod does that is how far the umbrella to the light makes a difference.

This is a softbox with a bowens mount. So the light shines through the hole and two difussions that can be added. This isnt a usual umbrella.
