Karim Ghantous
The new Summicron-SL Lenses - The Leica Camera Blog Note that the 35mm and the 50mm are coming later this year. All four Summicron-SL primes are the same size and almost the same weight. This is more important in cinema but it does mean that these lenses can possibly be adapted for cinematic use, specifically for VistaVision sensors (although the Thalia lenses have a larger image circle anyway). I only have two criticisms of the SL system: 1. The zooms have sliding apertures. 2. The sensor has only contrast-detect AF I suspect that the SL system is going to be more successful than people assume. But it's a slow process. I also repeat my hypothesis that the SL lenses can cover the 45x30mm sensor of the S. Just sayin'.
