joshwand
I'm putting together an expense estimate for an interiors job, and Irealized that I can't find a tungsten-balanced instant film that fitsthe MF pack-film holders--Polaroid only makes it in 4x5 sheets! Any way around this? I'm planning on shooting RDP for daylight and RTPfor tungsten, on a rented GX680 (always wanted to try one). What are my options? Or are there none? Thanks, --Josh
wm photography
That's a coincidence, I've got the same question for the same equipment (Fuji 680 III) for a similar interiors project. I've got the Polaroid back, but can't find any instant Tungsten film.
tarashnat
Have you considered color correction filters and a color temp. meter?
joshwand
There used to be something called Polacolor 64 that was balanced for 3200K, but it seems to be discontinued.
rachel_kinoshita
I can think of two options. NPC makes a Polaroid 4x5 sheet film back for the Fuji GX680 (NPC MF36), so you can use Polaroid Type 64 tungsten balanced film. If you can't find one of those to rent, you can always use B&W pack film which will still give you a good idea of what your exposure and composition looks like. joshwand
Ah, right! For my RB, it's called the Quadra back that lets me use 4x5 sheet polaroids. Yay, more gear to save up for!! :-()~~~
walter_groves
hi josh i would have to agree with rachael on using the black and white instant pack. however though polaroid discontinued the 64t tungsten about a year ago there are still some places that still have it in stock. headshots rentals here in toronto ontario still has some packs left. i stopped using it for proofing on my mamiya rb because i just did not get accurate results. polaroid here in canada told me that the 4x5 version was more accurate.
