carolyn_hall1
I just bought a new ttl/spot prism viewfinder from Arax for my hasselblad 500 c/m and for the life of me i can not figure it out - especially the "relative aperture". Has anybody else used one of these and had the same questions. Any guidance would be great. Simple instructions are needed! I cannot understand their instructions at all. Many thanks.. tarashnat
rotate the ring to set the lens max aperture (2.8 for the 80mm f/2.8; 4 for the 150mm f/4; etc.) Then set the film iso on the center. pressing the button turns unit on/toggles between spot and weighted average. Rotate the outer dial until you see both arrows. shutter speed/aperture combinations are then matched. Choose one, and use the matching value for the other. (from memory if the Arax is identical to the Kiev TTL/Spot meter). You may need to compensate for the difference in the brightness of various focus screens. paul_sharratt
Try this website http://www.hartblei.com/products/operating_manuals/ttl-88_manual.htm Also put "instructions for Kiev ttl viewfinder" into google. Good luck - I purchased one a month ago and have yet had an opportunity to use it.
h._p.
The Kiev/Arax prism has only one major drawback (I've owned mine for a year) and that's the amount of screen you lose to the LED display at the top. Apart from that, I've found it to be useful and well worth the money (less than 10% of the Hasselblad item)
