blake_abbott
I am beginning to shoot some portraits in a studio I am putting together in my converted garage and would like to trigger my Profoto Acute light set from my Sekonic meter. I can't afford a wireless trigger just now, so I was considering using a remote "T" cord for the Sekonic from B&H.I can't find the details for this cord and was wondering if anyone here was using it (or something similar).Am I correct in assuming that the "T" portion of the cord will have a male PC end for the Hasselblad lens and a female end for the Profoto sync cord?If anyone has a better system (besides a radio slave) for firing the flash set from the meter, please enlighten me.My goal is to NOT have to plug and unplug the sync cord each time I take a meter reading and an exposure. I don't have easy access to different types of equiptment and must order them, so I'd like to order the correct items the first time. Thanks in advance. blake_abbott
Sorry, I meant "triggering lights from...", not shutter.
jmf
I've used a "Y" (like a T) that came with an old sekonic digispot. Basicly that cable was 2 "camera" ends and one "flash" end. There are some pretty cheap radio remotes on ebay, as in 4 chan for typically $24 plus ahem $15 shipping. another trick if the pack has a optical slave built in is to take a very low power pocket strobe, and cover the front with an IR pass filter. Most likely the photoslave will trigger on the ir pulse, but the light shouldn't effect the meter reading. (you wire that to the meter to trigger)
steve_hovland
I use my 308B in cordless mode. I place the meter in the set in a clear plastic box and and push the test button on one of the flashes to trigger them all using optical slaves. My kit includes some monolights with built-in slaves and some shoe flashes for which I have Wein Shoe Slaves. If you have a master unit wired to your camera you should be able to push the button on that unit and have it flash. You can also use a small flash in the camera shoe or wired to the camera as a trigger.
