bernard_frank
I like Tri X 320 in the studio. But I've always used it at EI 320 in Xtol. What would be the difference with shooting it at, say, EI 160? Grain? Contrast? Sharpness? Anybody does that? And what would be your dev combo? Thanks. aurelien_le_duc
Well you can expose TXP320 at 200 EI and develop 20%less. You will decrease contrast, and the grain is very thin. Grey values are excellent. Personnally, I use it with calbe A49, really excellent results.
blue_sun408
I now rate both 320TXP and 400TX @200 ASA and pull process in XTol (1:1) with phenomenal results. Aurelien's description is very accurate. You will get a flatter neg., but I find this much easier to work with in both traditional darkroom printing and for scanning purposes as well. You can always "beef up" the contrast later if desired, much more difficult to get good results if alresdy starting with a contrasty neg. IMO. A lot has to do with the contrast range of the original scene or setup, and works especially well with normal to contrasty subject matter or lighting conditions. chris_waller
I rate Tri-X at 160 ASA and dev in Rodinal 1:50, 20 C, 8 minutes. Grain is quite moderate.<div></div>

ronald_moravec1
If you think Tri-X is nice at 200 which it is, try some Delta 100 at 50. Develope the same 20% less, 6.5 less 20 is 5.0 in straight D76 for me. I have always been more interested in quality than speed.
