Hi

I just developed about 40 sheets of new 4x5 TMAX 100 and got on 4-5

blank parts from 1/4mm up to 1mm!

Is this the new shearholder quality?

The good point is I used it not on a comercial job only was testing

some lenses and made some new shoots for my porfolio!

But now I will switch back to Delta 100 and will use the TMAX only for

long exposer times!

Is this on all 40 of the sheets? If so, was it on the same part of the negative? If so, call Kodak so you can get some free film out of the deal, and Kodak can recall whatever is still on the shelves of this particular lot of TMX.

I had a similar thing happen with Polaroid type 55 where a little V was etched into the right edge of the negative and print. I recieved 2 new packs of type 55 and still got to keep the old stuff.

Or is this just another cheap shot at Kodak which rears it's ugly head from time to time. Everyone wants to boast of their favorite hero. I've shot tens of thousands of sheets of Kodak and most other films as well and never had a problem with any of it that wasn't attributable to some mistake I made or an equipment problem. Time we just use what we like and quit being so juvenile about our hero worship.

I agree with James. When something I do doesn't turn out right I check my process and my equipment first. So far that approach has yeilded a 100% success rate in locating the problem squarely in my lap. The film makers all have excellent quality control and the chances are much greater that I made the error then there being a failure in the film.

I'm in complete agreement with James. Well stated. I've exposed

several thousand sheets of Tmax 100 & 400 over the last several

years (60 in the last five days) and never had a problem that

wasn't my fault. I shoot the film I can get the most consistent

result from - regardless of brand.

I must also agree with James, Jeff and Dave as every glitch on film I have

experienced w/ Tmax has been as a result of user error. I have however had a

batch of Delta 100 which would not fit my holders, these sheets were

measured and found to be "oversized". If reciprocity failure(or lack there of) is

your primary reason for shooting tmx, then perhaps you might want to get

aquainted with Fuji's Acros 100. On the other hand I find tmx's (existing)

reciprocity to be a useful tool for in-camera N+1 and etc.
