This book is about how a photograph, any photograph works. How --as the prologue by James L. Enyeart puts it --<I>" ...it is possible for visual language to inform and reform our learned assumptions...how a photograph functions by providing a visual grammar that elucidates the photograph's meaning."</I><P>

The language is clear and thankfully free of philosophic jargon. Very well illustrated. 86 pages.
