wigwam jones
http://cameramentor.com/mayfair_camera_shop I found a 'real' camera shop today. Like a breath of fresh air, it was. Just wanted to share.
William Kahn
Nice article, Wigwam, and it sounds like a great store - wish we had one like that around here......
Brian
It sounds like a nice place to browse but I fear that realistically he wouldn't get enough of my money to keep him afloat. I might buy some film and I might buy some chemicals, but I've already got enough old cameras to last a lifetime. Still, I wish him well.
stephen_allan
Purely anecdotal, so I wouldn't put too much on this as a trend. But a friend attending a local sixth-form college here in the UK (Cambridge) offering photography courses, has similar experience to Tom Swaine. The college offers digital, and traditional B&W options for the students on the courses; nearly all of the guys take the digital option, but nearly all of the girls have opted for the traditional approach (despite the fact that the course fees require an additional fee for materials).
