ryanjoseph
Hey guys, I wanted to know about telephoto flash. I have a Canon 420EX and a 100-400 IS mounted on my Rebel. I have heard about nature photographers mounting some kind of contraption on their flash that zooms the light so it has more reach. If I am correct and such a thing exists, where do I get one and how do you meter with a flash set up like that? Thanks alot for your help in advance. Greg M
There is an item called a "Better Beamer" that's used for wildlife. It mounts to the head of the flash, but it also narrows the beam down considerably, so it may not cover a large enough field if you talking about using it for people. The camera's through the lens metering system should make the proper adjustments for correct exposure. I'm not sure where it is sold, but I did once see it on Moose Peterson's web site with a link to the seller.
