  1. Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone have ever used either Tamron 28-70mm or 28-80mm before. I have just acquired these two lens both bought with the camera. I think one of them will have to go, but which one? The differences I could see are range and f/numbers. Any ideas/recommendations? Thank you!

  2. I would recommend holding them up to a strong light source (not the Sun!) and looking through them carefully to see what is inside. If one if them is much clearer than the other, regarding dust/cloudiness/etc. make your choice based on that. If they both look really good, flip a coin. If they both look pretty challenged, look for a different lens.

  3. That old 28-80 SP is a great lens. I still use mine all the time, it sits on a D200 and is still a terrific performer. I don't think that 28-70 is an SP is it?

  4. Hi Michael and Dave, thanks for your recommendations.
Regarding 28-70, the lens is not an SP.
Now that I have more info I can judge on what to keep easier! Thanks a lot guys!

  5. Glad it helped you out, you're welcome.
