taking photos while hooked up to computer

Is there a way to hook my e510 up to the computer, take the photos and have the

photos appear right after on the computer screen? I hook my e510 up to the

usb, and i see no such option. Please advise.

Do you have a "video out" on your camera? This is usually the small pinned female side in the

camera.

Olympus software does that in MS Windows and Mac OS. In GNU/Linux there is the software around too, but the Olympus protocol has not been reverse engineered yet.

On the CD that came with your E-510 there is a 30-day trial version of olympus studio. In that software there is a camera control option that lets you either control the camera from the computer and automatically download the images, or shoot the camera normally and download the images automatically. If you like the software you can buy a permanent license for $100.
