Tabletop Photography equipment

Recommended Posts

I need to purchase a basic tabletop photography setup to shoot images

of items (jewelry, books, small-medium sized gift items) to put on my

company's website. I am unsure of what the best combination of

equipment is, and am hoping someone can help enlighten me (no pun

intended). I have looked at those cubed shooting tents but they seem

sort of small and limiting in terms of the size of object you can

shoot in them. If it makes any difference, I will be using a Nikon

D70 to shoot these images. I would be extremely grateful if someone

could take a look at some of these product links that I am

considering and let me know if I am on the right track or if I should

be considering different equipment altogether. Any advice you can

offer will be appreciated. Thank you very much.

I bought a light tent from this place: http://www.eaglecool.com/light_tent.html?

It's a 30"x30"x30" cube that uses the flex steel spring hoops and folds down to a very small compact size and goes flat into a zippered bag. I've used it on a number of items, from glass to water filled bowls to flowers, etc. And at under $50, a lot cheaper than most others I found when I was looking for one.
