gary_griffin
I have some questions regarding using a 420ez with a T90. First, can anyone tell me where I can download a manual for this unit? Second, What features of this flash are NOT compatible with the T90? Third, if I want to use this on a stroboframe is this possible? I picked this flash for use with my T90 when I couldn't find a 300tl for a decent price. I had read this thread about using a 420. http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=003szQ Thanks, Gary
Rob_L1664876404
Gary, I don't know how the 420EZ differs from the 420EX. I have 420EX and 550EX flashes for my EOS cameras and tried the 420EX on my T90. The 420EX and T90 did not communicate in a manner that yielded a proper exposure. I presume the 420 could be used in manual mode - it's manual should tell you the guide number in manual. If I don't use the 300TL on the T90, the next easiest thing is a thyristor type flash such as the Vivitar 283/285 or the SunPak equivalent. This probably wasn't of much help, but good luck. john_ratliff1
There's a 300 TL on e-bay right now (next 30 min) for about $60. You are not patient enough. If you get this soon, check it out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=48549 &item=3848782857&rd=1 Otherwise, get a 299T or 199A strobe; they work well with the T-90 too.
