Sandy Vongries
Anybody shooting the Moon? Hopefully some good results. 2 degrees F, so I'll be dashing in and out to keep the cameras from getting cold - may even shoot out an open window. Hope to see and have some to share in the morning.
Ed_Ingold
The moon won't be full until Tuesday night, but it's very close, and shining brightly in a clear sky. Best of all, it's a balmy19F in Chicago. I might need a little push, coming off engineering a 9 hour recording session today. A full moon is not a very exciting photographc subject, but a SUPER SNOW MOON is something else, i suppose.
Ed_Ingold
Full moon will be 9:45 am, 2/19/19. The viewing won't be good in daylight, and this is close enough to pass for full at 9:15 pm, Chicago time. Sandy Vongries
Cold was an issue - dashing in & out without getting cameras too cold. This the best of the lot. Surprisingly with the P 900 hand held.

Ed_Ingold
The SkyWatcher is not a super-telescope. At $250, it is less than most kit lenses, and a lot of fun so far. Hopefully in half a month (New Moon) I can have a try at some deep space objects without freezing my bippy.
steve_gallimore1
It might not be "super", but it certainly did a better job than my "Auto* Promura", as did the P900, nice shots, both. *Auto meaning of course, auto-aperture stop down, not auto-exposure or auto-focus. DavidTriplett
Cloudy here, and I'm travelling for business tonight and tomorrow. I tried a quick shot of the setting moon this morning, but fuzzy due to clouds. I'll have to see what I can do with it when I get back. Sandy & Ed, keep your "bippies" warm.

dutchsteammachine
This is an animation I have been working on. I've taken a photo of the Moon every night from 14 to 17 seb. I hope to keep this up and visualize lunar libration. I have taken photos of 18, 19 and 20 too and will be processing those later. Glenn McCreery
I missed Tuesday's supermoon because of clouds. I finally got a good view of the moon on a cold a clear yesterday morning while walking the dog. For another perspective, see "Wednesday Landscapes" in the Landscape forum. Glenn McCreery
Here is a supermoon photograph from November 15, 2016, taken from roughly the same position as the above photograph (and also while walking my same dog). The moon was considerably farther to the north than it's position yesterday morning, as is evident by it's position in relation to the volcanic butte, (Big Southern Butte, in southeastern Idaho), located at the far left corner in this photo, and to the right of the moon in the previous photo. Both photographs were taken as single exposures, rather than composites. A single exposure works well if you wait until there is just enough sunshine for the "Looney 11" exposure rule (exposure duration equal to ISO at f:11) to apply to both the foreground and the moon.
