donald_ingram1
I was up in Reykjavik a couple of weeks ago, and had a good look through Ragnar Axelsson's book 'Faces of the north' - it really stood out from the crowd of Icelandic landscape photo books. I was impressed and bought a copy

Some truly inspiring Leica M photographs from Iceland, Greenland and the Faeroes here http://www.rax.is/Index.htm. Classic Tri-X and Leica M stuff
.th
of course it stood out, it isn't a landscape photo book.,.. well, u know. i tend to think of him more as a photographer though, than a user of a certain german camera brand.... ,-)

seriously, the book is very very good. stuart_richardson
The last time I was in Iceland, I saw a few of his photos up -- there is a large one of his on display at dikta. I love his photographs, but I wish he would go a little easier on the dodging/ burning in a few of his pictures. Otherwise, I love his stuff. He is my favorite Icelandic photographer anyway... peter_n1664876959
I finally managed to get this book and it is wonderful. I tried through the publisher - don't waste your time they don't respond to emails. I bought mine from Amazon in the UK for £39 I think it was. Beautifully printed and worth every penny. I think the book is a labor of love - 15 years in the making with some stunning images. Truly inspirational!

paulmoore
have to agree with stuart, great shots but shows his roots as a newspaper shooter, heavy handed on dodge and burning. maybe it's suppose to look obvious, to each his own.
alun
Axelsson is one of the very few photographers now featured on Leica's new website: http://www.leicacamera.com/photography/m_system/lenses/466.html Wonderful pictures -- I'll definitely buy the book. Thanks again for posting. regards, alun
