karl_keung
I can't find the IWKOO hood, can I use the 12504 hood (hood for the 35/1.4 and 35/2) as substitute? anyone has experience on this? thanks.
jerry_lehrer
Karl, You can use any lenshood that will fit, but you WILL get vignetting if you use the ones you suggested. Jerry
stephen_w.
I have an exc+ IWKOO hood, but you would have to buy my exc+ LTM (1460 made)lens too (you sell the lens?). I don't want to split the set. I bought it for my Canon VI-T, but some obstruction in the body prevents lens mounting. I have an M 21/3.4, so don't need the 4.0. I travel to Paris 8/22 for assignment, so let me know quickly. I can bring it with me and we can meet.
eliot_rosen1
Karl, the IWKOO hood is still your best option. They are out there, there are many dealers who specialize in this type of uncommon Leica equipment. You CAN find one, the bad news is that it will cost several hundred dollars, as Stephen indicates there are not many around.
daniel_fusion
Karl, forget the IWKOO hood, it must be so wide open for 21mm, that it seems to me quite useless.
stephen_w.
"...that it seems to me quite useless." Exactly, that's why I don't use hoods. They add to the bulk of "compact" Leica gear. I don't use the 12501 for my 21/3.4 either. When I try to sell a lens the buyer always appreciate it when I include a nice condition hood with it. karl_keung
much appreciated for all the advise. yes, the hood seems to be more of a decoration piece and of real use, except that I provide some protection to the lens.
