  1. Welcome to the weekly thread for street photos real and imaginary.

I don’t know about you but I still get a (minor) kick from seeing my birthday in print (rarely, these days) and on the web. And while we are on the subject of birthdays and the inevitable ageing process, here’s a photo of how to teach a new dog an ancient trick.

  2. Happy birthday Ludmilla.

  4. Virtually nothing of importance happened on my birthday in the entire history of the world...well almost nothing.
  5. I’m sure it’s some kind of snobbery but I really do prefer minimalist street photos in colour.

  6. When I was much younger, birthdays were great.

Today, I went for a delicious meal and drank a couple of glasses of wine out of a coke glass via a straw. Alcohol is still, ostensibly, banned in restaurants

  7. Happy Birthday, @Ludmilla
Life is good, as far as we KNOW it beats the alternative, yes?
  8. A heap and a bunch of years ago, we used to call a place like that a speakeasy.

If it's any consolation, approaching seventy, you feel yourself slowing down.

Then you pick up speed on the way downhill !
