Sun Set lighting advice needed for wedding?

Discussion in 'Wedding and Event' started by carla wong, peru, Mar 23, 2008.

  1. Hi, I need some help I going to take wedding pics, and the ceremony will be at
the sunset time 5.30 pm to 6 pm in front to the beach.
I want to know what kind of light will be perfect, I don't want to loose the
faces with shadows or the red sky.
What will be the light meter in atmosphere and with the lights?
I use a Medium Format, (2) portable flash light.
Sorry for my poor English, thank you.

Fill Flash if shooting into the sunset.

Expose for the sky, then fill accordingly.
  3. thank you !!
  4. I might want to underexpose the sky a stop or so and fill from there. Depends.

Also you may want to bring an amber gell to put over the flash to match the color of the ambient light. A warm toned sunset in the background with blue flash fill lighting can look false.
  5. I'd underexpose the sunset by 1 stop, and use fill-flash to illuminate your subjects.

  6. I going try to use the amber gell,
    thank you,
