alex_hawley
I'm making my first magazine submittal and need to know how MF transparencies are typically submitted. The submission guidelines require each transparency to be labled with the photographer's name, address, the location of the shot and provide caption information. The transparencies are also required to be sleeved. These guidelines are easy to understand for mounted 35mm transparencies but don't address unmounted MF transparencies. The guidelines say MF is accepted. So, what is the typical method for submitting MF transparencies that provides the required information?
mark_windom
Alex, You need to mount your MF transparencies before making a submission. You can buy mounts at many pro camera stores or check with Light Impressions. I had mounts made at a local printery using heavy-weight black card stock with outer dimensions of 4 X 5 inches and a die-cut window that is slightly smaller than the dimensions of the transparency. I tape the sleeved tranny to the back of the mount using acid free tape (Filmoplast P90). I affix a computer generated caption label using Boyd Norton's NSCS Pro slide management program. I store and submit my mounted transparencies in Print File Archival Plus slide pages. When making a submission be sure to include a delivery memo and follow the magazines submission requirements to the letter.
john_sonewald
You can also try this company http://www.tssphoto.com/sp/psp.html They make MF mounts several film format sizes and several card format sizes. They also provide samples if you are not in a hurry.
