michael_hohner
I wonder why you insist to post your pictures here instead of the photo critique forum. Just because you took it with a Minolta doesn't make it topical.
robert_byrd1
The phrase "insist to post" implies a defiance of opposition. I wasn't aware of any opposition to posting pictures in a forum. Look over at the Leica and Nikon forums to see what I mean. I think Minolta pictures are topical if they are taken with cameras or lenses that you don't see cited very often in the general gallery. I refer to MF equipment. I also think, by posting in a focused forum (no pun intended), you reach an audience that can give better feedback than some of what you see in the general gallery. Does it bother you to see pictures in a forum? I get the impression that most people rather like a break from technicalities.
michael_hohner
I don't mind pictures in a forum when they illustrate a point ("a picture says more than a thousand words"), or when they are an example for some topical situation. I don't see that that's the case with your pictures.
When someone needs a break from the technical discussions, they should leave the technical forums and visit the gallery section or the image critique forum. That's why they do exist.
robert_byrd1
Well, until the forum rules change, I will assume that the occasional picture isn't a problem for most members. This forum, as you may have noticed, lacks for posts sometimes; perhaps some activity isn't a bad thing. I respect your point; but until the rules do indeed change, you could just skip over my posts. Out of deference to your opinion, however, I am not attaching a picture to this response. :-)
emaxxman
I prefer your t&a shots. My Maxxum lenses don't take very nice t&a shots. Maybe I should switch to Minolta MF lenses. :-)
robert_byrd1
Thang, don't let the secret out: MF lenses are aphrodisiac! Next time I post a picture, I will keep you in mind... :-)
bacsa
what's that, "t&a"?
:o)
robert_byrd1
Csab, Here's a hint: my shots are usually more "a" than "t." :-)
chris1664876655
I enjoy the pictures. Please continue with the posts.
bacsa
topical-atopical? is it that simple?
robert_byrd1
Of course my shots belong here. "T" is for "Topical," and "A" is for "Artistic." So, now you know! ;-)
LenMarriott
Robert, You didn't say, so I don't know what you are looking for by posting these shots. I'll assume comments. One of the first lenses I bought was the 135mm f3.5 & it's always served me well. Your shots reveal it's sharpness to the degree possible on the net but I think you missed focus on the man in 'Fruit'. That shot is almost a 'where's Waldo?'(woman/guy? with the hat). The other is two shots in one, the left side could have been taken last week but the fashion king coming down the right side definitely says 70's. I have no hang ups about you posting here as I own much of the same manual focus equipment & it gives me hope. Love your T & A (truisms & abstracts) shots as well. Best, LM. mark_stewart
*Insert witty T&A analogy here* Post away Robert, when I bother working out how to do it myself I'll join you. Mind though, my AF lenses mustn't be as heavy as those Rokkors of yours, I don't seem to cut off the heads of nearly as many young ladies as yourself!
