rod_melotte
I recently took photos of a Roller Derby using my SB600. It workedGREAT - However - many of the shots need doctering because of red-eye. Even in shots where the girls were not looking rigt at m they hadred-eyes.
WHAT UP!!
How can I stop this.
Thanks!
rod_melotte
The ceilings were black and absorbed light so no bouncing.
Also - are there filters that will warm up the light it's producing?
Jerry_
If the area behind you is dark, the chances increase that 'red-eye' will result. You can try a flash bracket to put the speedlight a bit higher than the camera lens, but it would be better if the skaters are looking at a area of 'bright' light rather than a dark space. craig_gillette
Keep in mind that distance works to bring the flash back to being "close" to the lens, so a bracket won't stop being needed, it may become even more necessary. Red-eye will even show up on people well beyond the useful flash range.
rod_melotte
I was surprised to see red eye at all - I THOUGHT itwas caused when a person looked directly AT the camera, I had red eye on side shots. I had never used a flash for sports in a darkish arena before.
