nathan_stiles
I'm starting to plan my upgrade from a 805 to one of Speedotron's 2400w/s systems. However, I can find very little differneces when reading about the three options for me to know which one I'd want. What's the difference between the 2401sx, 2403cx, and 2405cx (I see the 2405 takes 4 heads, instead of six and is lighter)? Alos, what is an "LV-trigger" ? Oh, does 'sx' and 'cx' stand for anything? henryp
The Speedotron 2401SX has a short flash duration -- 1/3570 sec. with a 103 head @ low power -- option the other two don't offer, and is specifically built for rapid, high-powered shooting in a limited time situation. As you noted comparing the other two, the 2403CX has six outlets, the 2405CX has four.
Henry Posner
B&H Photo-Video, Inc. Henry Posner B&H Photo-Video
brooks short
And an LV trigger is a Low Voltage synch trigger.
michael_notar1
i have both the 2405cx and 2403cx, they weight about the same, within 2-3 pounds for a 24lb pack. the 2405 is much smaller, i want to say about 1/2 the size, but it only dials down 2 stops while the 2403 has 3 stops. sx=sports model, its fan cooled, but lacks the mail dial down knob of the 3 series (2403). it only has combine/isolate. cx= control or studio model, more head outlets+more dial down = more combinations an LV trigger is under 9v i think, not a biggie though. erich_budeshefsky2
I called Speedotron just a few minutes ago, and tried to compare my 2401SX versus the current 2401SX2. And they didn't give me much difference since they thought I had a different pack like a 2403 or something.. But the SX lines are indicated to be much more robust having better resistors and matched capacitors. And I metered the flash durations to be near 1/900 at full power. So I can get fairly crisp action sport flashes all day long.
