kraig_cuddeford Posted January 7, 2005 Share Posted January 7, 2005 I guess the speedlite has NO battery indicator, E-TTL output changes the charge time so I cant use the charge time as indicator of battery life. . I get Error 99 when the flash batteries DIE so I need to know Whats the common practice for changing/recharging the flash batteries other than charge time or the green n red light. Roger G Posted January 7, 2005 Share Posted January 7, 2005 Kraig, I use NiMH in my 550EX. I keep a fully charged set in reserve and put them in when it's convenient. I've never had the batteries in use become fully discharged. I get excellent battery life, especially with the higher capacity bateries ie 2,000 mAH or more.
