howardstanbury Posted December 18, 2016 Share Posted December 18, 2016
I'm sorry to have missed last week's postings, but there is always another week ...

On Thursday I went to Towcester to photograph some horse racing with a friend. The course is friendly and welcomes photographers, and there's easy access to the second-last hurdle.

<a title="Towcester races, 15 December" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">

^ This horse, Emma Soda, 'Tracked leaders, led after 8th, headed 12th, weakened before 2 out.' Finished 8th. (A7 | LA-EA4 | Minolta AF Reflex 500mm f/8)

<a title="Lucky punter?" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">

^ I'm pretty sure this guy saw his horse come home first in the 14:45 race. mukul_dube Posted December 18, 2016 Share Posted December 18, 2016
Your second shot is particularly impressive, Howard.
I offer "tribal" women at a rally to press for rights to the forest, on which they depend for sustenance and livelihood.

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
randy_cooprider1 Posted December 18, 2016 Share Posted December 18, 2016
Howard, I have the same lens but I think getting one and attaching it to my camera would not get the same results. The pictures of horses in action are interesting. Mukul was there a positive outcome from the demonstration?
We had ice on the trees which always catches the eye.

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

mukul_dube Posted December 18, 2016 Share Posted December 18, 2016
Randy, the limited aim was to get publicity. A few newspapers carried reports, and I think one television channel. The long term aim is to form an organisation large enough to work as a pressure group.
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
mukul_dube Posted December 21, 2016 Share Posted December 21, 2016
This lady is likely to pass on at any time and I was asked to look for photos I have taken of her. I found several, dating from the early 1970s, and this one, taken last year at her youngest grand-son's wedding.

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
