Hello!
I have 2 weddings tomorrow and we're supposed to get 24 inches of snow!!! This will be my first snow wedding and I was looking to see if anyone has any tips/advice for shooting in snow? But most of all, I was wondering if people can post snow inspiration pictures :)

God Bless,

My biggest worry would be getting from point a to point b on time and allowing extra time - since you know people are going to be late to the first one!

As for shooting in the snow - just watch the exposure on the bride'd dress - make sure you have enough contrast between the snow and the dress!

Missy I had a near blizzard wedding here in NJ, maybe 1996? But I have shot a number in decent snow. Aside from watching your exposure, I highly recommend getting or bringing a good big golf type umbrella. If it's very windy, you're in trouble, but if it's quasai calm itg's a big help, just don't open and close over the gear, lol. Unfortunately one bride I remember obviously did not enjoy her wedding because of the snow, and in turn she didn't like her pics too much, and they were really nice shots, this is a down side of bad weather. If they have a bad experience, everybody else is done on the wedding day, our work lives on, and on, and on. Try to keep things light and help them enjoy their day, it may pay off later. Have a very safe day, drive careful.

Dave -

Good points - I had a wedding last summer where the bride had planned on an outdoor wedding...day of - off and on rain. She didn't want to make the call on indoors until the last minute - when we were ready to shoot formals and it was pouring and windy. The golf umbrella wouldn't have helped...

I got some good shots, but the bride was pretty down all day - she had her heart set on an outdoor wedding...

Hey! It went pretty well... The most difficult thing was worrying about getting to the locations. And my assistant was snowed in so I was by myself lol. But besides that, it was fun! I was paranoid about dropping the CF cards in the snow so I put them in the plastic holders, in my zip up cf waterproof cardholder, then in a ziploc bag. Thanks everyone for your help! Here is one photo from the day-
