mike_halliwell
The snapbridge manual says no Which is totally stupid! It's way beyond 'missed a trick' and it's just design and usage blindness.

Absolutely hopeless. Edited December 4, 2018 by mike_halliwell
CvhKaar
Like Mike allready linked : Only one way to remotly start/stop video recording on recent Nikon dslr camera's : by re-assigning the shutter release button to start filming instead of picture taking, and attaching a remote to the 10 pin connector ( that remote can be a wired one or a cheap radio remote fron any brand) . But since Snapbridge ignoress "Personal settings" it still does not allow you to use it for video recording … So indeed... hopeless ….
mike_halliwell
a cheap radio remote from any brand Works well for birdfeeder type stuff. But if you actually want to see LV and trigger video, then something like Camranger will allow you to do pretty much everything remotely. Apparently there is a MK II coming out in 2019 with longer range and faster transfer. There's also a Camranger Mini that's IoS and Android only.
