Slideshow Production costs

I am looking for information on pricing the production of a slide show.

<p>

So far, I have made a tentative list of the elements involved, but besides

the price of film and processing (and then again, how do you account for the

fact that it takes x slides shot to get one that makes it to the final show?)

it is not easy to price!

Find my list below, and if somebody has experience/knowledge in the matter,

please drop me a note.

Maybe there is a better way to price a slideshow, such as saying that it

costs so much per slide, which price would include all cost categories.

Maybe there are books written on the topic. Does anybody out there know?

Costs for Slide production

<p>

Regardless of duration, the production of a multi-projector slide show

involves at least the following activities, with their associated costs.

<p>

Pictures

Taking original dedicated pictures and/or

Picking pictures from archives and/or

Duplicating pictures from slides or paper prints.

<p>

Processing

Done by a photo lab.

<p>

Special effect slides

Design on computer

Printing

Copying to Slides or off-house high-contrast production

Subtitles

Design on computer

Printing

Off-house production on high-contrast medium

Text

Writing

Editing

Recording

Music

Selection

Time metering to text

Film: 45 DKK for 36 slides -> 1.25 DKK per slide

Development: 45 DKK for 36 slides -> 1.25 DKK per slide

Slide Mounts: 36 DKK for 36 slides -> 1.00 DKK per slide

Total (before tax): 126 DKK for 36 slides -> 3.50 DKK per slide

It must be kept in mind that for a slide that is chosen, many are taken (from

one in three to one in ten).

I produce my own AV shows using twin Kodaks , and I have just been paid $100(US) for a 14 minute AV of a wedding. Now I tend to set a standard showing fee of $100 for one evening regardless of how many AV;s are in that show.

I did cost out how much an AV cost me a long while ago whilst I lived in the UK , I now live in Bermuda , and the total figure was well over 1,000 UK pound if you included travel costs , film ,time , purchase of CDs for soundtrack etc etc. For that AV I received a fee of 40 pounds for 1 showing !!!.
