aaron_lam
Can someone post a side by side comparison of the Canon 24mm f1.4 lens with maybe a 50 f1.4 / f1.8 or something? or 16-35mm L / 17-40mm L. I know about the Canon Camera Museum but I think their data might be off... the 16-35mm L is listed as 106mm and the 17-40mm L is listed as 196.8mm. I can't find a local store that carries this lens. Just interested in the size of the lens. Thanks! aaron
mendel_leisk
Here's that lens with a few others. This site has many similar comparisons: http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/Canon-EF-24mm-f-1.4-L-USM-Lens-Review.aspx
jbq
I think that it's very similar in size and weight to the 17-
isaac sibson
And the hood from the 24 F1.4L will fit onto the 17-40 and 16-35 as well (great for 1.6X crop factor bodies).
gareth_harper
I've got one. It's about 90mm long and about 80mm wide. It takes a 77mm filter. It's fairly weighty but is easy to hold with or without the grip fitted to my EOS30. It's a good lens, but you could hardly call it good value for money, unless for some reason you really need f1.4 on a wide lens. It's sharper and distorts less than the EF24mmf2.8, though it's not as sharp as I had hoped.

marc_bergman1
I didn't use the 24mm f/1.4 much until I got the Canon 10D. Now it stays on most of the time.<div></div>
