Silk Screening

hey, i was just woundering if any one would happen to know how andy warhol was

able to get such detail in his elvis prints, ive been trying to find out for a

while but can't find the answer.

Well I dont know if they had this around Andy Warhol's time but capillary film would give good results. I'm pretty sure it's just a fine mesh to get finer detail. I did quite a bit of screen printing in high school and college.

I was a screenprinter for over 4 years. I burned the screens for the printers to print with. A fine mesh probably wasnt around during Warhol's time. With a Capillex on the mesh the mesh count is less an issue of detail, but more an issue of wether it can hold onto the Cap.

 

I didnt do it in school. I did it for real.
