Sigma Flash EF-500 DG Super for Pentax

  1. I like this flash a lot. The problem is I have not used for a long time...
I tried to use it recently in wireless mode with k20d and it was way out of sync. Looked it up and found that it can be updated to work with the latest Pentax dSLRs. It has to be sent to Sigma in NY and they will do it for free. Obviously I have to pay is the shipping. The web site instructions are far from clear. Here is the link to the form that has to be filled out printed and sent with the flash. It says that it's for dealers but apparently it doesn't matter...
    Just an FYI...
  2. The address to send for Sigma repairs is:
    Sigma Corporation
    15 Fleetwood Court
    Ronkonkoma, NY 11779
  3. I sent my EF-500 DG Super in twice, once for the istD-K10D transition and then again for the K-7 (which also allows it to work with my K-5). Turnaround was about a week--I think they just re-flash the PROM.
  4. Rick,
does it still work with istD after the upgrade? I have an istDs, a K10d and a K20d body that that may still used by the family occasionally...
