michelle_gifford
I have a rebel XT, and I have tried to find the shutter actuations, but none of the software I have used shows this number. I have used several programs, but the latest is PHOTOMe, which does not show this either. Any suggestions?
phule
It's not possible without sending the camera to Canon who will charge you a fee. I'm assuming you're not the original owner or, if you are, you've reset the numbering at some point?
JeffOwen
I have been using a simple facility to read my 40D shutter actuations with no problem. It's a free download from this site
http://www.astrojargon.net/EOSInfo.aspx . However when I tried my new 60D it did not work. They may have got an up date by now so I will have another look at the site.

JeffOwen
I have used astrojargon over a couple years on my 40D and not only have I had no problem it also gave me a figure very close to what I expected.
michelle_gifford
No I am not the original owner. I bought it off ebay really cheap and have since taken over 30,000 shots with it. The file numbering had been resent when I got it. I was just wondering...
bueh
As the others said, there is no way to get this number. Only Canon can access it. Stop by your local Canon service and ask if they can read it for you.
