parv
I am looking for either a shoulder or sling bag (for it has only one strap) to carry large SLR & a big lens (Sony A900 with vertical grip & a 80-200 mm f/2.8 lens mounted with hood reversed) and on-the-ear headphones (Sennheiser Amperior, http:// www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-Amperior-Blue-Headphones/dp/B0070U6N6I) which do not fold. As (1) Lowepro Street & Field Specialist 85 AW (shoulder bag) has the camera storage cavity in the center, so headphones won't fit. I really don't want to carry (2) Lowepro Fastpack 250 (backpack; which will very possibly fit both) as it has a laptop compartment that renders it unnecessarily fat for local city use. It is also too big for only those two items, thus shoving more stuff is too tempting causing it to be heavier. The (3) Lowepro Outback 300 AW has fixed hip straps which I really hate (very tempted to cut off the straps but would cause damn loose threads). Would Think Tank Photo Retrospective 20 or Lowepro Classified (apparently replaced by "Pro Messenger" series) 160 or 180 AW be any more suitable? Would you have any other suggestions? JosvanEekelen
I never felt comfortable with a sling bag and heard the same from others. YMMV, so try them out and don't rely on other people's opinions. This is very much a matter of personal preference.
