charles___
I own a Mamiya C33 TLR that I use for sunsets and landscape photography. I have a 65mm f32 lense and a 135mm f45 lense. The camera makes excellent images and I very much enjoy useing it. My question is: how do you calculate and set hyperfocal distance with this camera. It does not appear to have the depth of field scales and focusing marks that I am used to working with. Your informtion and techniques will be appreciated. A happy holiday season and safe and prosperous new year to all.
graham_patterson
You have to do it by tables. The C33 has a set of focussing scales on the left side of the bellows, and a side window with a moving scale for the 65 and 80mm lenses. Using a hyperfocal distance scale for the focal length and circle of confusion you require, set the lens at the indicated distance. That will give sharpness from infinity to (roughly) half the focussed distance. I say roughly because the scales on these cameras are not overly precise! <p> For a table, try http://www.btinternet.com/~g.a.patterson/m_faq.htm
