I don't think American is a language unless you're referring to native American tongues. Last time I read the 7D manual it was simply presented in American standard English, albeit spartan as bloody hell. Neverhteless, you'll need to read the German-glish manual to set the Metz 58 as a slave. Canon has no say in that matter.
